I think of the forms I have created as specimens of life forms inspired by nature and contained as if preserved in shadow boxes and glass jars.  My inspiration comes from the complex patterns found in nature such as the delicate structure of the DNA double helix or the intertwining human vascular system. 

The works are sculptural drawings in which line, color and texture combine to create an intricate networking of wire and polyester fiberfill.  These specimens embody my own relationship with nature as an integration of romance and logic according to my own subjectivity and aesthetics.

The projected text is poetry taken from The Temple of Nature: The Progress of the Mind Canto III, composed by Erasmus Darwin. The poetry is an imaginative allegory in which science and art exist in perfect symbiosis.  I am projecting Darwin’s text because of the poetic images of beauty and sublimity in nature that it contains, which have inspired my own reflections on nature.
